Caribbean Tourism Travel Media Award “Up the Social Ladder”for Best Social Media Marketing Campaign

In November 2017, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority launched a four-month social media campaign called #LETHERINSPIREYOU, in an effort to promote tourism and assure prospective visitors that Saint Lucia is safe and desirable destination for their next vacation getaway. The main focus was to increase awareness about the popular destination of Saint Lucia in Canada, the United States, and the UK through a social media campaign to increase online traffic, social media followers and bookings in 2018.

STRATEGY

Our strategy was to develop a 360-degree marketing strategy that would showcase Saint Lucia as being untouched by the recent hurricanes while respecting and honouring islands that had been affected. We wanted to also raise awareness of the Saint Lucian culture by promoting connectivity and openness through captivating content that evokes curiosity from prospective consumers as well as continued interest and intrigue from repeat travelers.

RESULTS

A major focus of our campaign, the sweepstakes, set a record for The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority with a 318% increase over past contests receiving 20.1K entries. The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority Instagram account (@TravelSaintLucia) increased by an impressive 33%  and Facebook saw an increase of 21%. During our involvement in the campaign, we received a total of 11M+ impressions.

The #LETHERINSPIREYOU campaign continued to grow in 2018 and is consistently increasing in following, website visits and direct traffic – the ultimate measure of influence, with visitor arrivals climbing to an all-time high of 11% year-to-date.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
